How does Himalaya Whitelisting work?
Himalaya Whitelisting is a security feature that blocks unauthorised transfers of Himalaya Coin and Himalaya Dollar. It ensures that funds are sent and received from wallet addresses that belong to identified and known participants.
By whitelisting their Ethereum addresses, members can enjoy safe, unrestricted transfers of Himalaya Coin and Himalaya Dollar, without a time-lock.
What is the Restricted Period?
As an extra layer of security, we require external wallet addresses to be verified and whitelisted when making transactions using Himalaya Coin and Himalaya Dollar. Transactions from non-whitelisted Ethereum addresses will enter a 366-day restricted period from the date the transaction was received until the transaction can be spent or the address is being whitelisted.
PLEASE NOTE: This feature is only applicable to the transactions of Himalaya Coin and Himalaya Dollar. Transactions of other supported cryptocurrencies do not require address whitelisting.
How to whitelist an external wallet address?
If you are withdrawing HDO or HCN from your Himalaya Exchange account to your first withdrawal address, the address will be whitelisted for free.
However, if you wish to make a transfer to another wallet address or send your tokens to other people, you or the recipients will need to whitelist the address following these steps:
- Go to the Himalaya Whitelisting Website (https://himalayawhitelist.com/) and log in using your Himalaya Exchange account credentials.
⚠ If you have not yet created a Himalaya Exchange account yet, please click Register Now and complete the registration process. Return to the Whitelisting Website (https://himalayawhitelist.com/) and continue as before.
Once your account registration has been Approved, enter the wallet address you wish to whitelist.
⚠ As always, we recommend you copy and paste the exact address to make sure it is correct.
-
Click Continue.
-
You can pay the whitelisting fee by transferring HDO or HCN from your external wallet to the specified wallet address shown on the screen. You will need to initiate a transfer in your external wallet and copy the destination as the receiving address.
⚠ Make sure you enter the exact amount for the whitelisting fee as per the on-screen directions. You will not be refunded for insufficient fees and only one payment is accepted during the whitelisting process.
⚠ You must transfer the HDO or HCN to pay the fee from your external wallet that you wish to whitelist and only from that address.
⚠ As there will be a gas fee for transactions on the Ethereum blockchain, don’t forget to check if you have sufficient ETH in your wallet to pay the gas fees.
-
After the transfer has been completed, click I MADE TRANSFER. Himalaya Exchange will now verify your deposit. This process usually takes around a few minutes.
- Once your address is whitelisted, you’ll receive a message and an email informing you that the whitelisting was a success.
